Kenya is famous for its wildlife and it is undoubtedly one of the best places in the world to safari. Explore its vast national parks and get an insight into Maasai culture on this incredible 15-day adventure.

After a night in Nairobi you will head to the Lewa Conservancies, one of the best places to spot black rhino. Enjoy making your acquaintance with the animals on day and night game drives, and if you fancy really getting close to your surroundings, then there is the option to take part in guided bush walks.

Your next wildlife encounter will be in the Solio Reserve, exploring the vast plains, forest glades and lakes. From here you will make your way to the famous Masai Mara and the Mara Conservancies where your safari adventure continues and you’ll be exposed to an eye-opening volume of game.

Day 3 :

Three days exploring the Lewa Conservancy

Take in Kenya’s stunning Lewa Wildlife Conservancy and some of Africa’s best rhino safaris. Your time here will be spent enjoying day and night game drives to spot the varying wildlife, horse riding, camel trekking, bush walks as well as archaeological site excursions and lectures on the history of conservancy, which this catchment is known for.

Day 4 :

Ngare Ndare Forest Trust Ngare Ndare Forest Trust

Today you will have the opportunity to visit the Ngare Ndare Forest Trust. This forest lies to the southeast of Borana and has made huge steps in recent years to connect with the local communities to ensure its survival. Within the forest there are some magnificent rock pools, where the clear blue spring water gushes out the side of the hill, and also a fabulous canopy walk making it possible to get up close and personal with a Hartlaub’s turaco or even an elephant.

Day 5 :

Quad biking

This expedition takes you on quad bike or buggy through the rugged wilderness of northern Kenya, where true adventure off the beaten track awaits. The safari follows tracks through muddy, rocky, dusty terrain, where nomadic tribes of northern remain true to a traditional way of life. Day 6 :

Two days on safari in the Solio Private Reserve

Set in the lush foothills of the Aberdares and close to Mount Kenya, this area is the premier place to see Black Rhino in Kenya and other types of game. Your travel designer will be able to inform you about the activities on offer in this area of Kenya. Some of the activities you might choose to add on to your stay include thrilling helicopter flights over Mount Kenya and the Aberdare Range, or a visit to a local school where you can discover more about some of the projects that trips like yours help to support. Day 7 :

Two days exploring the Maasai Mara

Spend your time exploring the world famous Maasai Mara National Reserve with morning and afternoon games drives. During the Migration season you'll also be on the look out for the infamous river crossings. Hot air balloon safari over the Maasai Mara You might choose to add in a stunning scenic hot air balloon flight over the Maasai Mara to really appreciate its scale and gain a unique bird's-eye view of the game below. Note that this is a scheduled, shared activity and is weather dependent.

If you're interested in learning about the region's rich culture, we can arrange a visit to a local village for you. The Maasai will your hosts and you'll find out how they live in harmony with their cattle and the Mara's incredible wildlife, which has a lot to do with this land being kept so pristine. They are a people who are proud of their heritage, and although they find some of the new western trappings useful – mobile phones, motor bikes etc - they prefer to continue to live in their traditional way. Day 9 :

Three days exploring the Mara Conservancies

The Mara Conservancies surrounding the Masai Mara National Reserve offer visitors the ultimate safari: the lowest tourist densities; incredible day and night game viewing; walking safaris; and authentic cultural interactions. But above all, these Conservancies are managed according to a model that protects the delicate eco-system and benefits the landowners themselves – the Maasai people.

Day 10 :

Maasai cultural evening

Add an extra special memory to your Kenyan adventure and join the Maasai warriors as they sing and dance around the campfire. Music and dance is an incredibly important part of Maasai culture and this is a chance to experience something very meaningful.

Day 11 :

Sleep out at The Nest Sleep out at The Nest

Perched out on a limb in a lone Warburgia tree overlooking the Mara River, The Nest is just a short stroll away from Serian. It’s the perfect picnic spot after a trek through the bushes, and doubles as a romantic overnight spot. With two double nest-shaped beds, plus space for a couple more bedrolls, it can work either as an intrepid sleepover for the adventurer wanting to engage their senses, or a means for a family to realise that inner-child dream of living in a tree-house.
