Let’s Plan Your Travel to Uganda
Uganda is located in the heart of East Africa and offers an exceptionally diverse trip. For those looking for adventure, unique wildlife opportunities and kind-hearted local people, this is the country for you.
The most visited national park in Uganda is Bwindi. Located in the west of the country, Bwindi is a dense forest home to almost half of the world’s population of mountain gorillas. Trekking with the habituated gorillas is a bucket list experience like no other. In their presence, you feel both extremely vulnerable and humbled at the same time.
Continuing with the primate experiences in Uganda, Kibale Forest is a fantastic destination for those who want to see the chimpanzees. Whether they are playing on the forest floor or swinging from the treetops, the habituated chimpanzee experience is memorable in all the best ways.
Other parks to combine in Uganda include Queen Elizabeth National Park which is famous for its tree-climbing lions in the Ishasha sector, and Murchison Falls National Park which is known for its exceptionally powerful waterfall. In the north-eastern tip of the country is an isolated national park called Kidepo. Bordering South Sudan, this park is a semi-arid region with high temperatures and dry savannahs.
Uganda is a great destination for adventure-seekers. Jinja, located in the central-eastern part of the country, is known as the adrenaline capital of East Africa. Here you can enjoy white water rafting, kayaking, mountain biking and many more. Uganda is a country like no other. We simply cannot recommend it enough.

Your Private Uganda Safari
Your safari experience in Uganda is very different to more conventional safaris in, for example, Kenya, Tanzania or Botswana. In these countries, you will no doubt fly into the national park on a light aircraft, and your open-sided safari would start from there. However, in Uganda, there are so many diverse forests, parks and destinations to see that the best way of seeing it all is by vehicle.
However long your Uganda trip, we will arrange a private vehicle and safari guide for your whole stay. There are many advantages to this. Firstly, you will have a private safari so your guide will really get to know you and your interests (be it birding, photography etc.). Secondly, and one of my favourite things about an Uganda safari, is that you get the opportunity to see the remote villages and local people en route to your next destination.
Uganda is arguably one of the friendliest places in the world to visit. As you pass remote villages, the local children will run up to the car, waving and smiling at you – even the most fleeting of visits. When you arrive at your destination, it’s likely that the staff and safari guides will be local Ugandans (like this one at Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp) who have been employed and trained to help the local communities. Whatever itinerary we curate for you, your Ugandan guide and the local people will show you boundless love and passion for their country.
